Music I listen to

Interesting facts about me

The term "interesting" can be somewhat subjective lol, but here goes.

Lived in Texas all my life (hence my nic); born in El Paso; then later lived in Odessa, Lubbock, Wilmer, Cedar Hill before landing in the city of Dallas. I work as an orthopaedic technician for a major hospital and level I trauma center in Dallas. I love my job 99% of the time, but that last 1 % at times lol.\

Love music; listen to a little of some things and whole bunch of others. I love concert band literature and have built a pretty good sized CD collection even though it is hard to find in the mainstream stores. I play trombone in a community band though not the greatest muscian I still love it,

I have never walked on the moon, wrote a bestselling novel, won an oscar, nor ever elected President. But as I kid I won a bicycle in a national drawing and in my adult life won a free breakfast at McDonalds lol, and even once got a recogniton from the Office of Alabama Governor George Wallace (but that's a long story lol). Its the little things in life that bring the greatest pleasure; there are blessings in all things, even in what seems to be a first a major setback---look for those blessings; embrace them, and they will help you heal.

Okay, the Dallas cop showed his azz and the Houston pro football player and family showed their class, especially under such duress. But I have heard enough about it now. Can't the news media please move on.
  3. Its Not Worth It--or is it?

lol, I can ususally take things in stride, but sometimes I run out of stride lol, and when my buttons get pushed.......
You would think a nursing supervisor could ask you to do something--something thats is not entirely within your job description--with the magic words of "please" and "thanks"; but no--to talk to you like you are a little piece of "sh*t" and then try to twist the knife in your back. Well, I lost it big time--maybe I didn't exactly act...

I don't get sick that easy, but when I do.....well I usually throw it off easily, hopefully lol. It is unusual for me to sleep late like I did this morning and then crawl back under the covers again lol. But the weather has been rainy, cloudy and gloomy all week so maybe it is just my solar batteries running low. Up for a bit, but still feel a bit dizzy; however I am certain I will survive. Hope everyone has a great Sunday and a great week ahead.
  5. Quiet Sunday at work

Well, at least so far lol. There are only two of us Orthopaedic Techs that covers this place in some form or fashion 24/7 whether on campus or on call at night. Only a few certain events will cause us to have to come in from home--usually traction or some kind of casting related need. So anyway, I get to work every other weekend and it is not a bad deal really. You get weekdays off before your "tour of duty" and that is always nice, and weekends are usually pretty quiet (but there...
  6. Pleasant evening last night

The United States Navy Band from Washington, D.C. came through the Dallas area on their tour and played a FREE concert at the high school in Duncanville. Of course I couldn't pass that up lol. And naturally it was incredible--the individual musicianship and ensemble playing was absolutely immpeccable. But what was really the neat part was that two of our grandchildren (who live in Grand Prairie) asked to come along. Shelby (18) who thinks she is "Queen of the World" and her...

Sometimes I can't figure out why in this "Great Humanitarian Institute" in which I work that some people can have so much book learning, but don't know how to scratch their nose lol. (I know its not meimage)
